Rock Climbing on Koh Lanta Island

Koh Lanta Island is the largest Island within Krabi Province, however for those with adventure in their heart there are a few activites which cannot be found on Koh Lanta Island and rock climbing/abseiling is one of them.

Rock Climbing is available in some of Krabi's more tourist oriented destinations, like on Koh Phi Phi Island and in the cliffs above Railay Beach in Krabi. Those who want to experience rock climbing the magical limestone carst cliffs or just abseiling down their sheer vertical faces should travel to the beaches of Krabi, either to Railey  Beach or to Tonsai Bay of Koh Pee Pee Island.

Railey Beach is located approximately 20 km outside of Krabi Town which is again an hours drive (70 km) north of Koh Lanta Island. Getting hooked up is easy and fun and there are several rock climbing operators to choose from on Railay Beach and in the centre of Koh Phi Phi Island. Just get in touch with your nearest tour counter and they will arrange the transport to get you out there for a day's instruction and fun on the cliffs overlooking Railay Beach Krabi.

Railey Beach offers different accommodation, some resorts are looking out to the sunset side of the Phra Nang Peninsula and offer beach front accomodation or seaview bungalows, while others are located to the east side of the Pranang Peninsula. Koh Phi Phi Islands Tonsai Bay is located to the south and is bordered by sheer limestone cliffs with perfect rock climbing conditions to the west. Accommodation on Koh Pee Pee Island varies from simple guest house rooms witrh shared bathroom to 5-star hotels, offering seaview accommodation and beach front bungalows. For more information on P.P.
