Scuba Diving on Koh Lanta Island
Diving schools on Koh Lanta Island visit the 3 main dive sites around Koh Pee Pee Island, the Shark Point, the Anemone Reef and the King Cruiser Wreck close to Koh P.P. Island. These dive sites are all in easy reach for dive shops based in Saladan on Ko Lanta Island in Krabi. Dive shops in Phuket regularly visit the Koh Racha Islands as one of their main daytrip destinations, however, they are too far away from Ko Lanta Island and will not be visited by any of the local dive shools, which are mainly based in Saladan village at the northern tip of Koh Lanta Island. Ko Lanta Island is definitely the best base for any scuba diver wanting to spend quality time visiting Southern Thailands greatest dive sites.

The Dive Sites off Koh Lanta IslandBida Nok & Bida Nai Islands
Bida Nok and Bida Nai are two rocks south of Koh Phi Phi Island and can be reached
within 1.5 hours from Koh Lanta Island. For scuba divers, this is the place to watch for schools
of ocean going pelagics like tuna and mackerel and see some leopard
and possibly nurse sharks. Maya Bay
Maya Bay is one of the
most beautiful lagoons for scuba divers and snorkelling enthusiasts to imagine and belongs to the south isle of Koh Phi Phi Leh Islands. It is surrounded by rock walls that shelter a white sandy beach.
Sharkpoint, Anemone Reef & the Kingcruiser Wreck
Koh Phi Phi Island's Sharkpoint consists of 3 pinnicles jutting out of a fantastic coral garden. Numerous scattered, rock formations give shelter to innumerable tropical fishes and some leopard sharks. Scuba divers will enjoy a visibility between 5 and 25 metres. Koh Pee Pee Island's Anemone Reef's main feature is in the name already. Strange rock formations like canyons, overhangs and ravines make it the ideal place for a beautiful scuba dive. The King Cruiser Wreck Dive is close to Sharkpoint and PP Anemone Reef. It is a catamaran passenger ferry with a length of 85 metres, which sank in 1997. Scuba Divers have to dive down to depths between 12 and 30 metres. Visibility here ranges between 5 and 25 metres.
Hin Bida IslandsHin Bida is an underwater reef about 1
hour west of Koh Lanta Island by boat. From November to December leopard sharks can be
observed during their mating game, while whale sharks are passing the reef during March
and April. Ko Ha IslandsKo Ha Islands are a group of five limestone rocks rising out of the Andaman Sea water 45 meters deep. They are reached within 1.5 hours from Koh Lanta Island and offer the scuba diver steep wall dives, small caves, tunnels, canyons and two gigantic caverns. Where the walls fall down to 30 metres, whale sharks have been observed. Visibility is between 10 and 30 metres.
Ko Waen IslandsKo Waen Island fascinates the scuba diver by a variety of rock formations and a real underwater road network. A cave system washed into the rock reminds one of a Swiss cheese. Visibility is between 5 and 25 metres.
Ko Rok Islands (Nok & Nai)Koh Rok Nok Islands and Koh Rok Nai Islands are reached after a journey of 2.5 hours. A real underwater coral
garden with countless coral fishes, immense barracuda swarms, turtles
and lobsters awaits the scuba diver there. The white powdery sand beaches are among the most beautiful beaches along the Andaman Sea of Southern Thailand. Visibility is between 5 and 25 metres. Hin Daeng & Hin Muang RocksHin Daeng and Hin Muang are 2 submerged rocks with depth of up to 70 metres and steep walls, that are overgrown with soft corals and anemones. Undoubtedly, Hin Muang and Hin Daeng are one of the best diving spots in Thailand. Scuba Divers regularly spot grey reef sharks, tuna, mackerel, barracuda and the queen of pelagic fishes, the manta ray.. Although the whale shark population has declined in recent years, several encounters are recorded every year by scuba divers and the dive schools on Koh Lanta Island. Visibility is between 10 and 40 metres.
